About Me

Hey Yáll! I'm Amber. Welcome to my little corner of the blog world! I am glad you're here, let me tell you a little about myself. I am a Child of God, Mama to two boys, Farmer's Wife and Farmer's Daughter. I am a former teacher turn stay-at-home mom turn homeschool mom. I never thought I would homeschool, but as Daddy always said "Don't say what you're not going to do." When I am not homeschooling, my days are filled with being a part of a great church and leading a Children's Ministry that I simply love. I love photography, reading (lots of blogs) and the beach. Occasionally you will find me fishing or helping out on the farm, because I just like to be well rounded like that!

Why Farm Boys?
I have forever been around farm boys. Like forever. A farmer's daughter, I spent most of my life around a farm boy, my brother. Although I was prissy, many days were spent in the woods exploring, naming goats, and playing in the combine  - hoping not to get caught. With only one brother, you would think a girl would have some girl cousins to play some girly things with, but I was blessed with all boys, all farm boys, for the first twelve years of my life. They had a lot of fun terrorizing this gal in their life, including playing barber shop with my Barbie doll's hair. They essentially made me tough.

As I grew and became more interested in boys, I vowed (like my Mama did many years ago) that I would never marry a farmer. I was getting far from the farm, city life and good shopping for this gal, or at least the beach! Oh, but how God has a sense of humor, and a wonderful plan. I fell in puppy love with a farm boy, but no, no, I would not marry him, although he told me early on that we would get married one day (yeah right!). Time passed and the farm didn't look so bad y'all... especially with a sweet handsome farmer holding a sparkling diamond ring. We got married and five years later welcomed a sweet little farm boy into the world. He changed my life forever. Two years later, another bundle of joy came along, and this girly girl couldn't have been happier that it was another -- farm boy.

The farm boys in my life are my world. I love seeing life through their eyes. They farm from sun up to sun down, whether it's outside in the yard, with their daddy, or on the rugs in our den. This blog will be about my adventures with my little farm boys and farmer. Although, I have put off starting this blog for a long time coming, I am finding there is no time like the present. My prayer is that this blog will encourage you, teach you about farm living, and hopefully make you laugh at the troubles my little fellas find themselves in! Above all I hope the words I write bring glory to my Savior, who is so, so good to me.

"For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:13
